Summer's last blast
The SEMO District Fair officially kicks off on Saturday, September 8.
It runs through Saturday, Sept. 15.
From food to the rides, to the show ring, you won't want to miss Summer's Last Blast.
Here's a closer look at how to make the most of fair week.
For nearly as long as there has been a fair, there has been a parade to kick things off. However, due to the chances of significant rainfall on the morning of Saturday, Sept. 8, the board of directors decided to cancel the SEMO District Fair parade. It will not be rescheduled. You can also blame mother nature for canceling the antique tractor pull, that was scheduled at 8:30 on Saturday morning.
Get your grandstand tickets
The Grandstand entertainment offers a little something for everyone. We’re talking everything from an antique tractor pull, to barrel racing, to live music, to two nights of Hot Rod Truck & Tractor Pulls, the SEMO District Fair has it all.
However, due to excessive rainfall over the last 24 hours, the fair board has altered some of the opening weekend schedule.
The Auto Tire and Parts Dual Demo Derby was originally scheduled to make some noise on Saturday, Sept. 8 starting at 6. It has been RESCHEDULED for 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9.
The Mouser Steel Barrel Racing has been CANCELLED and will not be re-scheduled.

There’s a new carnival ride provider in 2018: Miller Spectacular Shows is in charge of the carnival portion of the fair. Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie or a little more timid, you’ll find carnival rides for all ages. Carnival rides specials throughout the week. Like Thrifty Thursday, when you can ride for 5 hours for just $15. CLICK HERE to see when you can save some green.
That fair food
Imagine 70+ vendors serving up your favorite fair foods. We’re talking about fried Oreos, turkey legs, spiral potatoes, funnel cakes, corn dogs– getting hungry? The SEMO Fair food vendors bring it all to the table. Of course, you can wash it all down with a lemonade shake-up. Keep an eye on Two for Tuesday, where participating food vendors offer a 2 for 1 deal on their food items!
2018 marks the 163rd edition of the SEMO District Fair. To this day, it remains rooted in livestock and agriculture.
