Coming soon to Cape Girardeau: Mary Jane bourbon + Smokehouse

We can’t wait to try Mary Jane bourbon + Smokehouse!!

It’s an expansion of local Perryville hot spot Mary Jane Burgers & Brew.

According to owner Carisa Stark, final design plans have been approved for the new place. They are moving full speed ahead, and hope to open in early 2019.

The new restaurant is located at 1107 Broadway in the old Courtesy Cleaners building in Cape Girardeau.

Stark promises to maintain a high level of service and quality.

The electric ambiance, and locally sourced, whole food will not change.

What will change are the food and drink.

“I do not believe in duplicating concepts,” Stark said.

At Mary Jane Bourbon & Smokehouse the menu will be completely different, featuring BBQ entrees and the largest bourbon selection in southeast Missouri.

Stark says she wants to create restaurants that serve as destinations rather than carbon copies.

Current design plans for the new restaurant maintain the buildings outside art deco feel.

Inside, though, construction crews are completely gutting and turning it into a two-story dining area that includes a private party room.

Imagine yourself sitting at the 2nd floor bar, having one of our signature cocktails, and eating a freshly smoked…

Bourbon lovers, we have great news for you.

In case the name didn’t give it away, this new restaurant promises to have the largest selection of bourbon in Southeast Missouri.

In fact, members of the team recently went to the Major Brands Craft Spirits Show to find some of the best bourbon to keep in the bar.

Fond memories served up, too

Another fun fact: the chefs are working to bring back the Mojo!

If you aren’t familiar, Mojo Potatoes were a very popular potato dish served at Shakey’s Pizza and Dino’s. Both businesses were housed in a building directly across from Courtesy Cleaners that has since been torn down.

On their Facebook page, Mary Jane bourbon + Smokehouse wrote that they’re trying to bring Mojos back as “a tribute to a local favorite that was directly across the street from our new location.”

We’ll keep you posted on when you can get your hands on some Mojos and all the other delicious wares that Mary Jane bourbon + Smokehouse serves up!
