Free soft drinks, free sunscreen, free parking, and slip-sliding fun for the whole family will return to Santa Claus, Ind. on June 14.
That’s when Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari intends to open its gates for the summer.
Holiday World planned to open on May 2, but postponed the date to June following concerns over COVID-19.
What can you expect when the theme park opens
You will find hand sanitizer readily available all over the park.
You might also have to wait a few extra moments while the park staff sanitizes the rides.
As park owners figure out how to operate as safely as possible, the say they could limit park attendance.
Leah Kock, owner and director of communications, said as plans alter, their main goal is to take care of visitors.
“After all, we’ve been the cleanest park in the world for two decades. We’re going to do our best to keep the park as clean and as safe as possible.”
Since the opening day for Holiday World has been postponed, the park hosted a digital opening day on May 2.
“We may not be able to welcome guests through our gates on May 2 as we had originally planned,” says fourth-generation owner, Leah Koch, “but we’re going to celebrate it just the same.”
On Sunday, the park released videos on social media featuring a fireworks show, entertainment videos, and cooking tutorials.
The park also created A Digital FunTown that includes interactive videos, printable worksheets, and content for kids of all ages.
You can even find backgrounds to make your Zoom calls feel like you’re at Holiday World.
The goal of the online content is to help families bring Holiday World home until the park actually opens.
