Tunes at Twilight

Tunes at Twilight is Cape Girardeau’s free downtown outdoor concert series. Old Town Cape’s popular event gets underway for the fall edition on Friday, August 10. The show starts at 6:30 p.m. It’s a perfect way to kick off your weekend.

RIVERfront Concert Series

Get your weekend started early with the RIVERfront Concert Series in Paducah. The free concert series showcases amazing up-and-coming musical artists, local and nationwide. Grab your lawn chair, or find a seat on the steps of the riverfront and enjoy the music on Wilson Stage.  Concerts are on select days in June, July, and August. Local artists take the stage from 6 until 7 p.m. with the nationally-known artists from 7 until 8:30 p.m.

Food & Music in Twin City Park

The Bollinger County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a summer series of Food & Music in Twin City Park. Enjoy free live music and food from vendors from 6 to 8 p.m. The park will also be closed to traffic so children can play freely.

SIU hosts 2 free outdoor concerts this fall

Solar Fest in August and Dawg Fest in September will each feature big open-air concerts on the lawn of Shryock Auditorium. Each is free and open to students, faculty, staff and the general public.

Solar Fest: Enjoy a musical afternoon at the new Solar Fest, set for 3-6 p.m. on Aug. 25. It will feature performances by two acts that strive to be hard to define within a specific genre: Lazcaux and Milk N Cooks.

Dawg Fest: Dawg Fest will take place on Sept. 14 from 7-9 p.m. Dawg Fest serves as a kickoff for SIU’s 2018 football season and a spirit-building event promoting the season home opener game against Southeast Missouri State Redhawks at 6 p.m. the next day. Fans will have the opportunity to meet a variety of people from SIU Athletics.

Sandwiches and Strings

You can think weekend thoughts over your lunch hour in Carbondale. Southern Illinois Classical Guitars and Strings and Heart Strings Studio provide a live acoustic performance on the Third Thursday of the month starting at noon.

This series is free and open to the public, bring a lunch and enjoy live classical strings at Artspace 304!
