Flu Vaccines in Jackson County
The Jackson County Health Department is now providing flu shots on a walk-in basis and planning a number of outreach flu shot clinics. Walk-in vaccination is available from 8 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday, with extended hours on Tuesday evenings until 5:30 pm. I addition to the walk-in clinics, people can get their flu vaccine at health department clinics offered in the community (see below). An annual flu shot is recommended for everyone 6 months of age and above. State employees health insurance covers flu vaccine delivered at any JCHD clinic site between October 1 & November 15. State employees may be vaccinated by health department staff at the SIU Student Recreation Center on October 11 and 17, from 8:30 am to 5 pm, as well.
