Cape Girardeau to host fireworks show for 4th of July

The show will go on.

Cape Girardeau is still planning to celebrate America’s birthday with a spectacular fireworks show.

People are invited to enjoy the display at the fairgrounds at Arena Park on Saturday, July 4.

Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation says the show will be a tribute to the United States and its veterans.

The grandstands will open for spectators at 7 p.m.

Entertainment will start at 8 p.m., and the fireworks are set to begin at 9 p.m.

The city encourages people to bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket.
