You said what??
It’s easy to admit here in the Heartland we love smoked pork butts.
You other brothers can’t deny, that when a plate of delicious pulled pork is served and it’s covered in sweet, tangy BBQ sauce, you get full.
That’s why we can’t help but say we’ve fallen in love with this new entre at the SEMO District Fair.
They call it Butt Fries.
Sivori Catering is serving up this dish at fairs across the country.
Let us break it down for you:
crispy french fries create a bed for the smoked pulled pork, smothered in cheese sauce, topped with jalapenos and red onion.
No surprise here, this kick in the keister comes from one of America’s best BBQ cities: Louisville, Kentucky.
The name will certainly make you giggle. In fact, Heartland Weekend’s Nichole Cartmell can’t seem to explain the dish without a grin.
Larry Sivori says the name seemed to fit the bill.
All butts aside, this fair food needs to be on your “must try” list.
It’s incredibly filling, and the flavors are a match made in heaven.
Sivori Catering is known for its rather unique concoctions.
In the past, they’ve served up Krispy Kreme Burgers and Tot-chios.
Good news: if you’re looking for a fair food that’s more traditional, they have that too.
On their menu at the SEMO District Fair, you’ll find turkey legs, Italian sausage, and Philly steak sandwiches.
